A suitable lens for moving objects, this lens is faster and lighter than the 85mm f /1.2 II L. Shooting experience at f /1.2 is required in order to get the best results.  You might want to use a single point focus when trying to shoot at f /1.2. Remember at f/1.2 the depth of filed is very narrow. This lens is good for indoor portrait shooting when the shooting space is limited. For out door, or hotel ballroom portrait shooting, the 85mm f/1.2 will deliver a better portrait image.

To achieve the most effective background blurring, try shooting at f /1.2 with the fastest speed possible. The faster speed will create a more enhanced blurring effect. In short, the combination of f/1.2 and 1/8000 second speed will provide a better background blurring effect than the combination of f/1.2 and 1/250 second speed. Of course you need to adjust your ISO based on the lighting.
